Digipak Progression

Having looked back at my first attempt of the front cover, I have decided that I need to improve and add more complexity to my first attempt. I like the worn effects and distorted, show have chosen to use a shattered glass technique. I think this will link to my artist well as the video we produced was called wall of glass. Additionally, I have shattered a CD for the CD panel, so this will make a constant theme throughout. There were several steps that I had to follow, these varied in complexity-

Step 1- cut out the actor from the main image- using magnetic lasso tool

Step 2- Duplicate the layer twice more

Step 3- 'Liquidify'- spread the image- keeping the face in focus

Step 4-  Apply a layer mask- fill in white

Step 5- Apply layer mask to other layer- fill in black

Step 6- Brush Tool- shattered glass- apply gradually to layer

Step 7- Change Brush to black and do the same thing

Step 8- Make both layers visible for final effect
