To avoid the image looking too flat, I scanned a real CD and edited it to include the necessary elements. To continue the theme, I used a VHS label and scanned my handwritten font and removed the background to give a realistic and consistent look. Once I merged the two layers, I edited a distortion effect around the centre of the CD. I think this looks good as I have chosen the 'Lighter Colour' overlay to avoid the two layers looking too abstract or dissimilar. Here is the setting I selected-
