Here are a variety of practice scanner shots which would be used for my digipak. I think this technique works well and the clarity of the image will be adequate for photoshop and I can see no major issue with the outcome. I captured the front of the cd and also the rear. I think that both would look good, however using the front image may make me logical and conventional. Alternatively, I may have more authenticity by using the rear, as I have not seen this through my research of digipaks. I think I could also edit the name of the artist onto the CD as I think this would brand the artist even more and make the image even more suitable for a digipak.
Another positive is that the shattered and cracked CD could lead me to a album name. For example 'broken' etc. The Indie/Rock genre (which my solo artist will fit in) needs to be illustrated conventionally so target audiences recognise. I think this image would convey this genre a lot more than others, again helping to make my artist a brand.
