Artist Logo Creation (1st draft)

Stages Of Logo Development

My logo is very simple but I have used photoshop to construct the sections for the most accurate and best quality outcome. I began making one line and duplicating 4 times. I like the 3D style that effect that is given when layered on top of each other. The colours I have chosen (blue and black) may not be used, as I will be able to adjust accordingly to the colours of the digipak. I would like a monochrome colour way as I feel this is most suitable for the genre, however I thought that using the light blue was easier to see when constructing the logo so I will change later if needed.

The second step involved slightly more complex steps. I used the polygonal lasso tool to measure the size of the gaps and then select and inverse to cut the desired shape out of a plain black shape. This was later replicated 3 times to give a similar effect to the horizontal lines. I feel this gave the logo a equal but modern look.

The font (The Juke Box) has been downloaded via DaFont. I chose lower case as the shape of the font was less regular, giving my digipak products more authenticity and unique designs. I have linked all the layers for ease of movement. These techniques will be useful to learn as I will use when making my digipak products

The only change at present is the shape of the horizontal lines, as I may make them like the side panels. This will be a quick adjustment so I will carefully consider which design is more suitable or even transfer both onto my final products and decide this way.
