Photoshoot Practice

Original Photos

Edited Photos

What I have learnt:
I decided to take the opportunity to complete this extra task as I knew that photography is huge part of digipaks and posters that promote an artist. Therefore, I wanted to get some experience with a camera and lighting before creating my own digipak poster to gain key skills. One of the main features in all of my photos is lighting and we altered this aspect in every shot to experiment what worked well. From this, I have learnt that when the lighting is at an angle, shadows are created, hence giving you a professional and abstract shot. Because of this outcome, I will make sure that any lighting I use in pictures is at an angle to create an authentic look. I also attempted to edit some of our images on Photoshop during this task. Whilst I edited the images I came across features like the magic eraser tool, changing all aspects of an image like contrast etc and also how to change the background. From previous Photoshop tasks from this year and last year, I have become very comfortable using the application and have also realised the importance of the magic eraser tool as it can cut out part of an image with significant accuracy. Overall, this task has helped me feel more comfortable with the Photoshop software and camera features so that I can apply the things that I have learnt into my final product.
